What are the benefits of Stewardship?

Stewardship is not only important to preserving and maintaining balanced nature habitats, it also brings people together in a wonderful learning environment for purposeful land restoration, beautification, and site management.

Learn about new opportunities for stewardship by checking our Event Calendar often.  Join us for ongoing restoration at Skokie Lagoons in Winnetka, IL every Second Saturday of the month, click here for details.  To join the workday mailing list, email Dave at skokielagoons@gmail.com.

The site stewards of the Skokie Lagoons are certified volunteers working with the Forest Preserves of Cook County (FPCC). They are responsible for organizing and scheduling volunteer workdays, ensuring for the safety of volunteers, providing the proper tools and workday training, as well as taking proper precautions for controlled brush burning, when conditions allow for it.
