Who is Jerry?

In the summer of 2009, Jerry Garden, a life-long resident of Chicagoland, packed his van with his belongings and camping gear and moved to Alaska.  Of course, knowing Jerry, he stopped on the way in the Yukon Territory to canoe 225 mile up the Teslin and Yukon Rivers.

While in  Chicago:

·         Officer and board member of BackYard Nature Center and Chicago Audubon Society

·         Faculty, Chicago Botanic Garden

·         Able to identify over 90% of all bird and plant species in North America

·         Highly respected conservationist and scientific resource person and consultant for many governmental agencies and non-profit organizations

But Jerry is still with us in his “Jerry’s Column,” and he’s looking forward to hearing your thoughts and responses to his column.
